As you stroll among the stalls, you are surrounded by the smell of fresh pecorino cheese, the deep red color of local tomatoes and the enthusiastic voices of the merchants proudly touting their wares.

Whether you are looking for that one perfect bottle of olive oil, handmade leather goods or just want to enjoy a cappucino while the world passes by, at the market you don’t feel like a tourist for a moment, but a part of our region. Our favorite weekly markets

Discover the local flavors and traditions of Le Marche.

  • Tuesday & Friday – San Benedetto del Tronto A large, lively market with everything from fashion to fresh local produce.

  • Wednesday & Saturday – Ascoli Piceno An atmospheric market in the historic city. Tip: On Saturdays, don’t miss the fruit and vegetable market under the arcades near the iconic Caffè Meletti.

  • Thursday – Offida & Grottammare In Offida you will find an authentic market full of local specialties. In Grottammare, enjoy a smaller, intimate market right by the sea.

  • Saturday – Civitanova Marche One of the largest and most versatile markets in the region. Tip: Around lunchtime, head to the fish hall across from the harbor. Join the long tables for freshly fried fish with a cold glass of local Pecorino wine.

Evening markets

Balmy Summer Evenings: Markets Under the Stars

During July and August, when the greatest heat of the day disappears, the squares really come alive. The evening markets in Le Marche are magical: the historic buildings are beautifully lit and the atmosphere is relaxed and festive.

  • Every evening – San Benedetto del Tronto Along the kilometer-long promenade and in the center, you will find cozy stalls every summer evening. Perfect for a relaxing stroll by the sea, where you can find souvenirs, handmade jewelry and local trinkets.

  • Wednesday evening – Acquaviva Picena In the shadow of the impressive castle, the craft market takes place on Wednesday evenings in July and August. This village is known for its wickerwork (pajarola), so you will find beautiful handmade baskets and works of art.

  • Friday evening – Offida (Mercatino del Serpente Aureo) An atmospheric market where local crafts take center stage. You can often still see the ladies lace the streets here, a beautiful sight against the backdrop of the medieval square.

Antique Markets & Curiosities

For lovers of vintage, antiques and hidden treasures, there are some absolute highlights in our region. Keep in mind that these markets are often big and last all day (and sometimes evening).

  • Ascoli Piceno – Every 3rd Saturday and Sunday of the month This is one of Italy’s most renowned antique markets. Ascoli’s beautiful squares fill with high-quality antiques, art and collectibles. Please note: During the months of July, August and September, this market takes a summer break.

  • Fermo – Every Thursday evening in July and August The Mostra Mercato dell’Antiquariato is a household name. As the sun sinks behind the hills, browse among antique books, furniture and vintage design in the atmospheric streets surrounding Piazza del Popolo.

  • San Benedetto del Tronto – L’Antico e le Palme This large antique market takes place twice a year under the thousand palms of the promenade and shopping streets. It is usually on the last weekend in June and around the 20th of August. It is the perfect place for a summer find.
